- Hi Friends,
-
- A friend got a modem from US (Intel SatisFAXtion modem/400e). It connects OK
- and stable (does not drop out). When using a simple terminal program to
- connect, it works OK. However, when using it for a PPP connection (with
- Trumpet Winsock which I have been using for years), it stops working after
- a few minutes (the connection does not drop out, only the netscape, telnet
- and other applications stop to get any new data). I tried to lower the
- connection speed to 2400bps, it works for a longer time. So I believe it is
- due to data over run or something. As he don't have the manual, I don't
- know how to tell the modem to use hardware flow control and enable error
- correction. Please let me know if you happen to have a similar modem and
- have a working init string for it.
-
- BTW, we are in Melbourne, Australia.
-
- Thanks in advance for your help.
