  11. Hi Friends,

  13. A friend got a modem from US (Intel SatisFAXtion modem/400e). It connects OK
  14. and stable (does not drop out). When using a simple terminal program to
  15. connect, it works OK. However, when using it for a PPP connection (with
  16. Trumpet Winsock which I have been using for years), it stops working after
  17. a few minutes (the connection does not drop out, only the netscape, telnet
  18. and other applications stop to get any new data). I tried to lower the
  19. connection speed to 2400bps, it works for a longer time. So I believe it is
  20. due to data over run or something. As he don't have the manual, I don't 
  21. know how to tell the modem to use hardware flow control and enable error
  22. correction. Please let me know if you happen to have a similar modem and
  23. have a working init string for it.
